Former DTM winner promotes award-winning air purification innovation from Rolf Hartge
Passionate about cars, innovative, health-conscious – these are the attributes that make motorsport icon Ellen Lohr the perfect ambassador for AELUS. The mobile air purifier, for use in cars and on the road, is a new development from Rolfhartge GmbH. The device is designed to achieve maximum efficiency when combating pollutants, dust particles, viruses and germs in cars and has allowed the well-known vehicle finisher to position itself as the world’s first provider to focus on passengers’ health in this way. It was for precisely this approach to health that the family business was awarded first prize at the China Shanghai International Technology Fair CSITF back in April 2019 – long before the coronavirus pandemic.
ALEUS received the Red Dot Award and the German Innovation Award in 2021. Behind its compact and attractive design lies innovative UV technology with a patented, self-cleaning photocatalysis system. A concept that immediately impressed Ellen Lohr. The only woman ever to win a DTM race still spends a lot of time in the car – most recently in her role as Motorsport Director for automotive development service provider AVL.
Ellen Lohr: “I am looking forward to raising people’s awareness of this innovative product. With AELUS, you not only drive more healthily but also feel better – particularly when there is more than one person in the car. I am also looking forward to continuing to work with Rolf and his family. I still have fond memories of the time when we were successful at the Nürburgring 24 Hours with a jointly developed SLK. Even back then, over 20 years ago, I was impressed by the Hartge family’s innovative spirit.”
Rolf Hartge: “We are delighted to have Ellen Lohr on board, as the topic of health in cars and on the road is very close to our heart. If we didn’t know how important clean air is before the coronavirus pandemic, we do now. This not only affects asthmatics, allergy sufferers, babies and the elderly, but all of us. After the WHO recently reduced the limit for fine particulates from ten to five micrograms, it is now clear just how dangerous fine particulate pollution is considered to be to one’s health. The WHO expects overpopulation, intensive farming and electric automobiles to result in the amount of fine particulate pollution doubling by 2030.”
Hendrik Hartge: “In the future, there will be a great demand for customising vehicle interiors – particularly with regard to autonomous cars. Our new focus is on health, well-being, comfort and versatility. Under the motto »Smart Luxury« – luxury with innovative additional benefits – the focus for a unique product or small-scale production is always on the customer’s demands with regard to quality, design, longevity and additional benefits.
For example, our health package for vehicles and everyday use is proven to reduce the risk of infection through the airways, as well as via skin contact through smear infection.”
